Learn to Swim

The objectives of the TIPC’S Aquatics Programme for PWDs are to increase circulation, improve heart rate, increase range of motion, decrease blood pressure, and increase digestive movement. 
The buoyancy properties of water allow for more dynamic exercises in a safe environment and the participant can move with greater ease and diversity.  It also allows for the achievement of a variety of training goals, such as cardiovascular, weight training, stretching, and massaging


Volleyball (Seated)

The objectives of the TTPC’s Volleyball Programme are to teach the skills of the game and teamwork.  Each team's goal is to pass the ball over the net and to touch the ball on the ground of the opposing team's side. Teams consist of mixed classes in male and female with six on court at one time. 
The Community Seated Volleyball programme is facilitated by the Trinidad and Volleyball Federation.  The programme is a ten (10) week programme under the direction of qualified coaches who are trained working PWDs. The programme is offered at Indoor Multisport Centres nationwide, and is open to disabled community (friends of the disabled may also participate).

Swimming

The objective of the TTPC “Learn to Swim” Programmeis to teach PWDs how to swim. The programme is facilitated by an experienced swim coach qualified in training PWDs. This is a ten (10) week programme with one (1) session per week at 1.5 hours per session. It is open to all age groups and held at community pools.



Table Tennis

The TTPC’s Table Tennis Programme aims to increase the participation in this
sport among students and clients of Schools and Organisations assisting the
disabled community. The programme is structured to develop the
fundamentals of movement which are balance, coordination and agility. The
programme is an eight (8) week programme under the direction of qualified
coaches who are trained to work with PWDs.

Karate

Trinidad and Tobago Paralympic Committee Karate Community Programme

The objective of TTPCs Karate Programme is to teach PWDs Level 1 self-defense skills.  The ten (10) week programme is facilitated by the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation. There is one (1) session per week at 1.5 hours per session. It is open to Persons with and without disabilities and from all age groups.
